District Governor Steve Rehmann’s Lions career started with the Royal IA club from 1976 to 1978, Serving as a director before moving to Fort Dodge in 1978. He rejoined Lions with the Fort Dodge Noon Club after retiring in 2015 and has been with the club for 10 years. Steve has served as Tail Twister, Director, Zone Chair, District Treasurer and Kidsight Trainer/Coordinator for 9NW, as well as leading the club’s 9 member Kidsight team.
Steve served in the U. S. Navy from 1969 until 1973 as an Aviation Fire Control Technician with Reconnaissance Attack Squadron Three (RVAH-3) at Naval Air Station Albany, GA. Upon leaving the service he first came to Iowa, having grown up in Chicago.
Upon arriving in Iowa, Steve served as a Patrolman and Detective with the Eagle Grove Police Department for several years. He left the department as Captain to join GAB Business Services, an international independent insurance claims adjustment firm.
Steve’s career with GAB spanned over thirty years, including roles as an adjuster in Sioux City and Spencer, branch manager in Fort Dodge, and property/casualty general adjuster handling significant losses in Iowa and surrounding states.
Upon retiring from GAB Steve joined his wife Kathy, a OB/GYN nurse at Trinity Regional Hospital and served as the valet services supervisor for 8 years until we both retired in 2015. Kathy was a nurse at TRMC for over 30 years.
Steve has served the community on several boards, including Lakota Girl Scouts, Webster County Crime Stoppers, Hawkeye Community Theater as well as several church committees for Corpus Christi/ Holy Trinity Parish. Steve has also served as chairperson of the Webster County voting precinct two for several years. He is a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, serving in leadership positions of Faithful Navigator, Faithful Comptroller and District Deputy. During his time in Royal, Steve was a member of the Royal Volunteer Fire Department
Steve has been married to Kathy for 51 years. Our family includes Susan, her husband Bill and three grandchildren in Omaha, NE as well as Sarah, currently residing in Portland, OR.
